Auckland Town Hall Project

Scaffolding the Auckland Town Hall came with a host of technical challenges, not least being that the clock tower scaffold could not touch the roof of the town hall itself.

To overcome this difficulty a support structure of 750mm aluminium lattice girders was designed by Layher to support three sides of the tower scaffold – one side of which is floating above the pitched roof behind the tower.
The total height of the scaffold was close to 40m and uses console brackets to cantilever in as the tower tapers towards its apex.
The scaffold was completed with aluminium platform stairs and gaps in the working platforms were eliminated with the use of a variety of Layher products.
